For a studio class, we were supposed to do a bottle shot. There was snow on the ground, which I chose to use to keep the wine cold. I looked into what went well with cabernets and went for a picnic like feel .
This shot was the final result, but after speaking wth others, I have realized I should have leaned heavier on the grateful dead theme and followed that idea. While I have seen wine in decanters, the color was off and apparently not everyone deanters wine.
What I learned with this is thinking outside the box and research more completely and take that research beyond the object and into the idea. In short, selling the story and not the item. Sell the idea by creating a story.
While the image may have not worked the way it was panned, I feel like the lessons learned were worth the failure. As I will find along a ot of what is posted here. I will and hav failed a lot. And to start, I’m sharing a ot of those failures. But also, what I learned from those failures, because the process has been more powerful, for me, than the end result.
