Street-Esque

We live in a medium sized city and went out to shoot street photography. Only the streets felt empty and boring, compared to the large city’s I have been to (Reno, Seattle, etc.) While this is not so much sweet, I would argue there is still importance in the emptiness. The quiet feeling in areas that should be bustling. The dull energy that thrums through the streets, while people avoid meeting your eyes and the feeling that there are people around, but nobody to be seen.

Lime scooters and cars surround marketplaces, empty parking lots, and buildings with boarded up doorways. Shadows of people working inside are a whisper of the expected bustle. Graffiti on the walls and broken down buildings are a reminder of a dying city. Old bus stations remain standing, buses no longer visiting and passengers long gone. nature starts taking over the abandoned, boarded up locations, quietly squeezing the life out the concrete and a reminder we are all ultimately ruled by nature.

  1. I love the colour range in these photos. Streets on the other side of the planet to me. And even more a love the accompanying text. Its always good to get the backstory to a photo.
