Working Portfolio Reel

In the time I have done photography, I have never really been able to describe a niche I fit into or felt was “right.” Some of my work(a lot, actually) was Zoo Photography while others was portraiture or candid. But there was always a style I was after, mainly higher contrast, a bit grittier and “real.”

I always have wanted to tell the story of humanity, within my photos. Not the warm and fuzzy side, but the harder realities. Between this year, and last year, I have begun to hone and locate a niche. Mainly, expositional photography. What that means is the ability to describe people, places and actions through the art of photography.

In short, my goal, and what I hope this video portrays, is to create portraiture that tells others stories, with a side of creativity at times, and allows my models/subjects/talent to be true to themselves in a dramatic or cinematic way.

While I still have a lot of room to grow and I am not there, yet, I have faith that eventually I’ll nail the lighting and emotion more times than I fail. But I will only learn through the failures and set backs.

This video is the current work I find more true to me and what I see. Sometimes, rules are broken and that seems to work for me.
